• Avoid at all costs

  My husband and I employed this firm in November 2010 to remove two old apple trees, a small hawthorn and a rambling rose, grind the stumps and plant a beech hedge. After taking down the trees, they announced they would return the following week to grind the stumps! They gave my husband one reason and me another for the delay. When they did eventually return and grind the stumps, they announced they would return sometime in the future to plant the hedge! The snow came and went, we telephoned three times in late January and left messages - no response. They arrived while we were out one day and asked our neighbours if they could come through their garden and climb over the fence to plant the hedge - our sensible neighbours said no. More messages left. Again they arrived unannounced - fortunately we were in this time. Their standard of work is equally unprofessional - Whole branches were dragged across the lawn, and through the garage, damaging the lawn and scraping the paint off the garage door each time they passed! Stones were thrown up against the windows as they were grinding - no precautions taken or concern shown when we expressed our worries; the "hedge" consisted of twenty five, twelve inch whips, which were planted in a slit made by a lad with a spade! No hole, no compost, no watering, nothing! To date only half of them have shown signs of life. (25.5.11)
