Cobwebs provides simply the best typically English cuisine, outside of a Mayfair restaurant, that I have ever experienced. I went there recently to celebrate my Father's 80th Birthday and, despite there being quite a crowd of us, piping-hot, delicious, traditional fare was delivered to us all at the same time, with entrancing sweets to follow. Heartily recommended.

My visiting American friend and I visited Cobwebs in March for afternoon tea and were very impressed. Last week my husband and I and two friends booked a table for their 2-course lunch. We had roast turkey breast, with the biggest dish of golden roast potatoes and dish of mixed vegetables I have ever been served for 4 people. The food was truly delicious and the choice of desserts from the towering trolley was "to die for", although my husband opted for the hot apple pie and custard. The service was first class and very friendly. The atmosphere was typically English Tea Shoppe. Drinks, meal and coffee worked out to £41 for the 4 of us. I'd recommend Cobwebs to anybody.
